DESCRIPTION

The old mill of Corinaldo is a historic structure where once were produced the essential products for life of the territory: the flour, oil and wine. In one of the quarters of Corinaldo, in Madonna del Piano, is a little piece of historical and cultural heritage that just waiting to be appreciated by curious visitors who will be transported back in time.
The structure is a museum of testimonies of rural life where you can admire millstones, so ancient that even date back to the Middle Ages, these, thanks to the strength of the waters diverted from the river Cesano, transformed agricultural products in flours of wheat, barley, corn.

During the dark ages, when the Misa valley became imperial Feud were formed new urban centres in the area, including Serra de’ Conti. The Misa, only river that runs through the town of Serra, is predominantly torrential. Its source is located in the south-western slopes of the anticline of Arcevia’s territory in the area of San Donnino that is located in the municipality of Genga, and after 45 km ends his journey in Senigallia flows into the Adriatic Sea. Along its banks you can find paths through which you can observe its fauna and flora. This route offers a path that leads to cross the river Misa in a stretch really special, that is the impietrata, an ancient passage paved at the Fosso di San Fortunato. It is a crossing of Roman, still visible and practicable, especially in dry periods.

In locality La Piana di Serra dei Conti, in the direction of Arcevia, there is an oak, admirable in size and demeanour that, in local parlance, is called "Cerquagrossa." His apparent age, referring census records of the Command Forest Station of Arcevia, is between 300 and 400 years.
