DESCRIPTION

In the most internal and mountainou area of the territory, especially in the towns of Frontone and Serra Sant'Abbondio occurred in recent years, a recovery of the uses of forest products with destination assortments both semifinished, with chestnut and beech wood, and firewood, with manna ash, hornbeam and oak wood. Since the last years of the last century the development of ecological thinking has given rise to an important debate on environmental issues and has generated a set of cultural movements that, incidentally, have promoted the critical review of the " forestry question".
It is part of the forest redevelopment, the recovery of part of the existing paths, the restoration of ecological function of some ecosystems, insertion, along the routes, of equipment for recreation and educational-naturalistic signage aims to re-evaluate a portion of land so rich of beauties to be protected and enjoy by citizens.
On Catria Mount are preserved forests more valuable (the beech forests are almost all being converted to high trunk) and some rock sites, virtually intact, rich of floristic peculiarities. In the district were established 11 floristic protected areas of the Marche region, which protect numerous endemic species, confirming the extraordinary ecological value of environments preserved in it: altitude grasslands, forests, cliffs, macerate (rubbles), ravines and fluvio-karst valleys.
