DESCRIPTION

The footwear district of Fermo, is placed between the provinces of Fermo and Macerata, and it represents the largest concentration of shoe companies in the Italian territory.
Three production centres, otherwise specialized by product, prevail: the area surrounding the municipality of Montegranaro, where are predominantly made men's footwear; the area of Monte Urano, specialized in the production of shoes for children and boy; the district f Civitanova Marche and Porto Sant'Elpidio, where it is particularly accentuated the production of women's shoes. The production in the province of Fermo is geared for about 85% towards medium-high and high footwear market. There are also several small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the support sectors and that produce machinery for the leather industry, leather and footwear.
